A new venture , my “covid canoe”

the first layer of fiber glass is like clear varnish showing the wood and the screws too!
“ducksback” paint inside
thr red cedar makes a nice contrast with the home grown poplar
finally on the water at Bellinter bridge this Easter 2021

I started making this canoe last year in April during the first lock down. Finally getting around to finishing it.All my own wood for the strips of poplar and spruce .A bit of red cedar for the contrast in the bow and stern .The layer of chopped fibre glass and polyurethane resin gives it a strong coating to protect from rocks etc.The clear resin allows the natural colours to come through .
